1979 was the most difficult yet to decide on obviously my love of The Fall would feature in this year and i expect them to pop up in the next 10 or so years as well . They released two fine lps in 79 and only stopped having numbers one and two by the beautifully shambolic “Like Flies On Sherbert”by the wonderful Alex Chilton .The Yachts debut lp also makes an apperance a lp that i have always thought sounded what The Teardrop Explodes and early Wah would have sounded like if they had merged. So many great and good albums did not make my list way too many to mention . My least favourite Elvis Costello 70’s album Armed Forces did not make it, i think it has five great tracks and the others ok . My second favourite George Harrison did not make it as the Wings “Back To The Egg “also did’nt,if i had done this list back in 1979 i am sure they both would have indeed been on there , if the second side of The Patti Smith Groups “wave” album been as good as the first side i am sure it would have made it.
